Professor Amrit Sen and Mr Biswanath Banerjee from Visva-Bharati visited Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee in March 2015. Mr Banerjee has recently completed a joint UGC sponsored research project on Rabindranath Tagore and Science. Prof Tapati Mukherjee was scheduled to travel to Edinburgh with Prof Amrit Sen at the end of September 2014 and lectures, library visits and research meetings had been arranged for them in the UK, prior to their travel. Prof Fraser booked and paid in advance for a flat with self-catering facilities for a period of two weeks in Edinburgh to accommodate Prof Mukherjee and Prof Sen for the duration of their research trip.
