Prof Tapati Mukherjee was scheduled to travel to Edinburgh with Prof Amrit Sen at the end of September 2014 and lectures, library visits and research meetings had been arranged for them in the UK, prior to their travel. Prof Fraser booked and paid in advance for a flat with self-catering facilities for a period of two weeks in Edinburgh to accommodate Prof Mukherjee and Prof Sen for the duration of their research trip.

However, this plan was aborted as Prof Mukherjee’s visa application was rejected and Prof Sen had to postpone his visit to a later date. As annoying as this might be, it will not deter the researchers on the project in both the UK and India from working on the project!
