This trailer is from a reading at the Southwark Playhouse which took place on February 11th 2020. I have adapted and changed a fair bit from Tagore’s play, not least by putting it into iambic pentameters. Incredible to think that Tagore was writing about these issues one hundred years ago. Set in the Himalayas, nowadays, this is a gripping story of a father-daughter feud. When a neighbouring state’s water supply is cut off by the building of a hydro-dam, Ranjit’s clash with his activist daughter, Abhi, will destroy the dam and her father’s career.
